Massage Therapy Services

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is the most commonly offered and best known type of massage. It uses a firm but gentle pressure to improve the circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation. The therapist generally uses massage oil to facilitate making long, smooth strokes over the body. Swedish massage is the foundation for other types of Western massage, including sports, deep tissue and aromatherapy

Sports Massage and Trigger Point Therapy
Sports Massage and Trigger Point Therapy are techniques that focus on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. They aim to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fiber's of the muscles, tendons and fascia. Sports Massage and Trigger Point Therapy help to break up and eliminate scar tissue. They usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage, but the client will feel better than ever within a day or two.

Our therapists have successfully treated many amateur and professional athletes including Olympic level as well as the weekend warrior. We strive to prove our clients with the treatment that is best suited for their individual need.

Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage is therapy that combines the proven healing techniques of hot and cold therapy with a therapeutic massage. Hot stone massage is increasing in demand among spas and healthcare offices. Hot stone massage is a very comfortable and relaxing therapy in which stones in varying weights and sizes are placed on specific areas of the body that are known to hold tension. Additionally, oiled stones are used in flowing strokes to relax the whole body. This creates a relaxation and comfort experience beyond compare.

Depending on your particular needs, your therapist may combine the stone massage with other forms of bodywork. If you have conditions that require caution with heat therapies, are pregnant, have high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes or other conditions requiring a physicians care, it is advised that you consult your physician as well as informing the massage therapist prior to treatment. As with any therapy, if you experience discomfort, notify the therapist immediately.

Craniosacral Massage
Craniosacral technique is a therapy that is increasing in popularity. It is a gentle hands-on method that supports every system in the body, releasing tension and enhancing your body's own ability to heal. Craniosacral therapy taps into a motion that can be felt most strongly at your head (cranium) and also in the base of your spine (sacrum). The craniosacral rhythm is created by the flow for fluid that is continuously moving around your brain and spinal cord. Because your entire body is connected to the spine and spinal cord, the rhythm can be felt in all areas of the body.

Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle therapy that works to support healthy changes in all of the body's systems. It can assist the nervous system in reducing stress related conditions including anxiety, insomnia, digestive problems and depression. The circulatory system is affected with results such as increased energy, reduced pain, improved immune system, and faster healing from trauma. The musculoskeletal system can be affected with improvements to many disorders including TMJD, fibromyalgia, and arthritis.

Reflexology
Did you know there are over 7,000 nerve endings in your feet? This makes them quite sensitive and responsive to the sensory input of reflexology. Reflexology has been shown to improve circulation which can decrease muscle tension and soreness as well as decrease the swelling from injuries or illness. Your immune systems function, skin tone, and ability to concentrate also improve when circulation is increased. During your reflexology appointment, your therapist can address the needs of your entire body. Responses to a reflexology session vary from patient to patient. Some patients feel calm and relaxed, while others may experience an increase in energy or fatigue. The more often you experience reflexology, the more benefits you are likely to notice.

Massage Cupping
What is Massage Cupping™ bodywork? It is a wonderful ancient technique which has found its place in the modern world of healing. Massage Cupping™ is a modified version of the common practice of cupping therapy, and the incredible results that this simple treatment produces have truly impressed those who experienced its subtle power. By creating suction and negative pressure, Massage Cupping is used to release rigid soft tissue, drain excess fluids and toxins, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, and bring blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles. Varied techniques using stationary and moving glass cups greatly enhance many spa/body treatments and massage modalities.

Almost any massage therapy modality can be enhanced by the addition of massage cupping. The wide range of cupping sets that are now available allow for a variety of applications and benefits. Therapists and spas can choose traditional glass sets or manual sets that require a simple pump to create the vacuum. Micro-cup sets and magnetic micro-cups allow for massage cupping to be used for joints and points, as well as providing more concentration and focus to the points of reflexology on the hands, feet and face.

Pregnancy Massage
Massage is a wonderful and natural way to relax, increase your energy and relieve discomfort during pregnancy. Massage during pregnancy has been proven to help reduce muscle cramps, relieve joint and muscle pain through out your body, increase flexibility, ease constipation, gas, and heartburn, reduce excess fluid retention, slow the progress of varicose veins, and reduce headaches. Our therapists have been trained to properly support you with pillows and cushions. Additionally, they are able to complete your massage experience during the later months of your pregnancy by placing you on your side. All efforts will be made to keep you comfortable. Please, do not hesitate to ask if there is something that will help with your comfort.

In addition to the massage, you may be given some self care techniques that will assist you in staying comfortable while you are at home or at work. This may include pillow positions, supports, and gentle exercises. It is always a good isea to let your primary care physician know that you will be receiving the prenatal or postnatal massages. It is also important to let your massage therapist know of any changes in your heath during this time. Remember, you are now caring for two very important people!

Reiki
Reiki is a technique that promotes balance among all of the body's systems and a regenerative process to the body and mind. To receive Reiki, the client lays on the table, usually fully clothed. Little or no pressure is applied and no oils are used. The therapist places their hands on or above your head, shoulders, back, chest, stomach, and limbs. The hands can also be placed over a specific area of injury. Ancient teachings state that the universal energy flows through the therapist to the client. The client receives the amount of energy they need to bring their mind and body into balance. Most clients experience a deep relaxation. Results can be subtle, however, most recipients enjoy a sense of calm and well-being after the treatment.
